Last night, Steeltown Pro Wrestling (SPW) presented its second annual Kerry Brown Memorial Tournament. Here are the results courtesy of the Master Blogger.
Opening Contest: SPW Provincial Title Match - ''Wild Child'' Jerin Rose vs Myko - The son of Syko competed for the Provincial Championship. A collar elbow tie up by Rose into an armbar on Myko. Rose put on a second armbar but Myko grabbed the hair and choked Jerin with his boot and delivered a belly to back suplex for a 2. On the outside, Myko delivered a back elbow but Jerin would turn the tables. However, Myko delivered a shot to the breadbasket but missed in the corner. Jerin recovered with a clothesline for a 2. Myko pulled Rose by the hair and bodyslammed him for good measure. In the end, one of the valets missed with a shot to Myko allowing Jerin to deliver a Diamond Cutter to retain his title.
Match #2 - 6 Way Steeltown Showdown - James Beaver vs. Samuel vs. Reggie Gallagher vs. Bobby Fox vs. Chip ''The Flame'' Fletcher vs. Johnny Devine - An armbar by Fletcher on Gallagher as well as 2 clotheslines but Reggie tagged in Samuel who got a knee before tagging Fox who delivered shots before Beaver tagged himself in but got a boot by Samuel. Samuel delivered shots to Bobby but Fox managed to bounce back. Samuel delivered a clothesline before Beaver tagged himself. Next Reggie Gallagher tagged himself in but the 2 count was broken up by Devine. Samuel delivered shots to Fox and bodyslammed him but Fox turned it into a DDT before tagging Johnny who was on fire before the 2 count was broken up by Gallagher. Reggie covered Chip but the count was broken up by Fox. Fox tried a cover but that got broken up as well. In the end ''Hot Shot'' Johnny Devine advanced to the next round.
Match #3 - Spanky vs ''Mr TLC'' Tommy Lee Curtis - Curtis put an armbar on, but Spanky reversed it into a headlock. Spanky and TLC did some kind of showoff but Curtis dropkicked him during the showdown. Spanky turned the tables, however, TLC bounced back with a flying clothesline allowing Spanky to take a time out with fans chanting ''get in the ring.'' Once Spanky got back in the ring, he delivered a kick and an avalanche for a 2. TLC countered with a rollup for a 2. Spanky did a DDT and a slap to the face but TLC recovered with a crescent kick. Both men traded punches but when Tommy covered he got a 2. Next, TLC did a spinning legdrop but in the end Spanky advanced to the next round.

Nacho Slurpee lasted the longest in the match but in the end Big Cliff Corleone was the winner.
Match #5 - Marius vs. La Sombra - Marius jumped La Sombra from behind and back suplexed him for good measure. Next, Marius put La Sombra in an armbar and delivered repeated kicks and said to the refferee ''I will do whatever I want referee.'' Marius missed the legdrop which prompted La Sombra to deliver a hurricanrana and a headbutt. But when he went up top again he missed. This prompted Marius to try to end the match with his Peyote Piledriver finisher, but La Sombra turned it around for the win.
Intermission: I went to the the concessions.
Match #6 - Spanky vs. ''Hot Shot'' Johnny Devine - In this semi-final match, Spanky took down Devine with a shoulderblock and put him in a headlock. Devine countered with an armbar but when Spanky chopped Johnny, Johnny turned the tables until Spanky choked Devine and suplexed him for good measure. Spanky put on a chokehold but Devine tried elbows until Spanky put him down but missed with a top rope headbutt.. This prompted Johnny to bounce back with a clothesline and an Alabama slam followed by a camelclutch allowing Johnny Devine to advance to the finals.
Match #7 - ''Big'' Cliff Corleone vs. La Sombra - This was a mismatch in my opinion as Sombra tried a bodypress but Corleone caught him in mid-air with a backbreaker, a snapmare and a kick to the back followed up by a face wash with his boot. Next Cliff tossed Sombra to the outside. Once on the outside. Sombra managed to bounce back with a dropkick but missed with a dive as Cliff ran his back into the ringpost. Back in the ring, Cliff countered with an elbow but missed a Corleone Crunch in the corner. This prompted Sombra to deliver 10 punche but missed with a hurricanranna as Cliff turned it into a powerbomb but Sombra dropkicked the big guy down. Cliff missed a second Corleone Crunch which allowed Sombra to get the win to advance to the final round.
Match #8 - ''Really Crazy'' Rob Stardom vs. ''Hotshot'' Danny Duggan - Duggan with an armbar but Rob put on one of his own until Danny reversed it. Stardom delivered a shot to the breadbasket but Danny rammed his head into the turnbuckle 10 times until Really Crazy delivered a kick to the gutt and a hard chop but Danny would reverse it until Stardom countered with a suplex for a 2. Danny bounced back with a bulldog until Rob put on a neckbreaker. Next, Danny tried a sunset flip but Rob dropped down on him for a 2 which allowed Danny Duggan to get the win.
Match #9 - ''Big'' Brian Rich vs. Shadow Xtreme - Brian Rich sported new gear and got put into an armbar by Shadow until Brian reversed it into a shoulderblock but Shadow countered with a hiptoss but a chase around the ring prompted Rich to jump Xtreme. Rich next put Shadow in a half crab and a kick to the knee followed by a double cross armbar. A dropkick was followed by a double footstomp and a superkick but he missed a toprope legdrop. This prompted Xtreme to go to the top but was tripped by Rich. Shadow delivered a Swanton Bomb for the 3 count.
Match #10 - Ann Brookstone vs. ''Sexy'' Mystik Sexton - Brookstone attacked from the opening bell. Mystik recovered by tossing Ann into the chairs and putting a garbage can over her head. During the melee Brookstone did a stinkface to both Mystik and the referee. After Ann realized what she had done, both Brookstone and Sexton clotheslined the referee. Sexton delivered a shot to the gutt but Ann recovered by hanging her in the Tree of Woe for a 2 count. Ann slammed Sexton but missed with a headbutt. This prompted Mystik to bounce back but in the end, Brookstone got the win with a Death Valley Driver.
Match #11: Finals - La Sombra vs Johnny Devine - The winner would be presented the trophy that Chi Chi Cruz won. Before the match Cruz said we need a moment of silence and have a good match. Both men shook hands as Devine delivered an armdrag takedown. Sombra reversed the armbar but Devine countered with a rollup for a 2. Next Sombra delivered a suplex takeover but Devine put on a headlock which Sombra turned into a sunset flip. Next, we saw a more agressive sign of Devine as he turned an armbar into a DDT. A chop by Sombra was followed by a shot by Devine on Sombra's head as well as a mini codebreaker. As Johnny put on his camelclutch finisher, Sombra got to the ropes and delivered a roundhouse kick followed by a splash but only got a 2. A moonsault by Sombra was another 2 count. Next, La Sombra tried a diving headbutt but again got a 2 count. In the end, after a very controversial decision made by SPW President Dale Barnett, La Sombra won the tournament. Congratulations La Sombra, the Master Blogger says you deserve it!!
