New Brand Wrestling Never Say Never Results

Last night, NBW presented Never Say Never at the Ellice Theatre. Here's the results brought to you by yours truly, The Grand Master Blogger.

Opening Contest: Reaper vs. "Misfit" Mike Mission - A collar elbow tie up into an armbar by Mission but Reaper managed to rake the eyes. The Misfit delivered clubbing blows to the back of Reaper and suplexed him for good measure. Next, Mission tried a bulldog but Reaper kicked out at 2 until the Misfit delivered his Mission Statement DDT to get the win. After the match, Ricky Rivers got into a bit of a fist fight with Reaper and spit mist into Reaper's eyes and delivered an RKO. Ricky then announced his final goodbyes. I wish Ricky nothing but the best in all his future endeavours and to let him know that I will continue to make him proud with my reviews.

Match #2 - Beaver vs. La Sombra - Beaver tosses La Sombra to the mat twice, he backed Sombra to the corner turnbuckle but Sombra dropkicked Beaver but missed a 619. Beaver choked Sombra and tangled with referee Rocky Augustino while his valet choked Sombra with the rope. Beaver suplexed Sombra but Sombra would bounce back only to get put down again. Next, Beaver put down Sombra with a backbreaker but somehow Sombra bounced back with a dropkick only to get put down by Beaver with a clothesline for the win.

Scott Justice Promo - About a week ago it was announced that it would be Scott vs. Leo London for the Mid-Canada Title but unfortunatly the powers that be announced it would be a non-title match. This brought the champ out to the ring who says: "You want a title match? Challenge accepted!"

Match #3 - Nacho Slurpee vs. Samuel - Slurpee tried to end the match early with a rollup but Samuel kicked out at 2. An irishwhip to the turnbuckle by Samuel was reversed by Nacho only to be taken down by Samuel with a chokehold then stomps twice only to have Nacho recover with 10 punches to Samuel's head but Nacho got picked up and taken down with a backbreaker and a Rock Bottom for the win.

Match #4 - Mid-Canada Title Match - Scott Justice (challenger) vs. Leo London (champion) - Justice shoved Leo to the mat, Scott put London in an armbar but Leo would reverse it only to have Scott reverse it again. Leo turned Justice into a small package but Justice would kick out at 2. Leo took him down with a shoulderblock and tried an airplane spin only to have Justice grab on to the ropes. On the outside Leo delivered a diving knee but once back in the ring, Scott would suplex Leo only to have the champ kick out at 2. Leo bounced back with a hurricanranna but as he tried another airplane spin, he accidentally did it to referee Shane McLoven, As Scott set up Leo for the Southern Cross, London took the ropes. A third attempt at an airplane spin by Leo was a charm. As Leo came off the ropes he was met with a superkick by Scott but managed to kick out at 2. By now, Scott was getting irate and frustrated. Justice delivered a Rocker Dropper but only got a 2. Finally, Leo put Scott in the Labelle Lock forcing Justice to tap out. After the match, Beaver attacked Leo sending him a message that he wants the Mid-Canada Title.

Intermission - several wrestlers came out to sign autographs and I got a head scoop from Wayne Stanton: River City Wrestling will be back on September 17th at 7:30 p.m. at, drumroll please: The Ellice Theatre. However, there were fireworks as Cory Diamond came out and accepted the challenge of Billy Blaze which will take place next month.

Match #5 - 6 Man War: Billy Blaze, Big Cliff Corleone & Brian Rich vs. Beaver, Marc Merric and Ike Idol - The heel team came out with loyal wrestling fan Curtis St. Marie who was manager for the night and he had the crowd right in the palm of his hand so kudos to you Curtis my friend, great job as a manager. Rich puts Merric in an armbar before tagging Billy who put more pressure on the arm. Blaze tags in Cliff who delivers shoulders in the corner turnbuckle as well as an avalanche to Beaver. Rich dives over Cliff onto Beaver by climbing up on Corleone's back. Rich chops Ike. Ike recovers and tags in Merric only to have Marc take Brian over with a butterfly suplex. Beaver distracted the referee and irishwhips Rich only to have Rich move out of the way and take Beaver over with a Sliced Bread. In the end, Blaze delivered a Blaze of Glory to Merric and Marc got double teamed by Blaze and Cliff for the win.

Match #6 - "The Rebel" Bobby Collins (accompanied by "Dirty" Dick Walker and Caveman Broda) vs "The Misfit" Mike Mission - Mission was in control in the opening of the match delivering an elbow, hard rights and a clothesline to The Rebel. Next, The Misfit put Collins in an armbar until Collins reversed it. Mission put the Rebel in a headlock until Caveman Broda choked the Misfit from the outside. Dick Walker attacked Mission with a broom. Back in the ring Collins delivered a shot to the back as well as a superkick but the Misfit bounced back. Bobby delivered a DDT and came down on his shoulders. The Misfit delivered his Mission Statement DDT but Collins kicked out.  In the end, Dick Walker whacked Mike with his title belt risking DQ. Winner by disqualification Mike Mission. After the match the champs got into an argument until Caveman Broda played peacemaker.

Main Event: NBW Heavyweight Title Match - Dirty Dick Walker vs. Billy Blaze - Walker issued an open challenge to anyone in the back to challenge him for his heavyweight title. Billy Blaze accepted the challenge. Both men traded blows with Billy getting the upper hand. Walker backs Blaze to the corner and slaps him across the face. Billy backs Dick to the corner until on the outside Collins delivers an uppercut and Dirty Dick choked Billy. Blaze recovered until Walker delivered a legdrop. Blaze rolled up The Dirty One but only got a 2. Next, Billy delivered a back elbow but again got a 2. Dirty Dick delivered repeated headbutts but Billy would bounce back with a jumping kick to the champ as well as a belly to belly suplex but Walker kicked out at 2. Dirty Dick tried a T-Bone suplex but Blaze got the shoulder up. As Billy tried another kick, Dick put him down with a clothesline. Collins held the ropes ready for Blaze to fall through but Blaze reversed the irishwhip causing the Dirty One to fall through resulting in the champs arguing yet again. At that point, Big Cliff Corleone ran The Rebel into the ring post and Blaze delivered a kick to Walker rendering him unconscious. Winner by countout Billy Blaze.
