This afternoon River City Wrestling returned to the Salvation Army on the corner of Logan and Lizzie. Now this is going to be their home base for awhile until they can get the insurance thing figured out. But enough of all this jibber jabber, let's get to the results.
Opening Contest 3 Way Match - Leo London vs. Shadow Xtreme vs. The Executioner - Executioner slammed London and Xtreme to the mat and said: ''Is that all you got??''. Both Leo and Shadow ganged up on Executioner sending him to the outside of the ring. Xtreme executed a headlock takeover on Leo but Leo bounced back with a roundhouse kick as well as an impressive and I mean impressive suplex. Shadoow recovered with a Cross-Rhodes and a bodyslam and dived onto Executioner. This gave Leo the opportunity to do the Mistico Dive onto both men. Back in the ring Leo put Shadow in the Ode To Quack submission move but in slipped the Executioner who delivered repeated shoulders to Xtreme and choked him with his boot and then suplexed him for good measure. Leo climbed back into the match. Both Leo and Shadow tried suplexes but both were blocked. Leo delivered an excellent Code Breaker from the second rope but Executioner came in and broke the 3 count up. In the end, Shadow pinned Leo following a 5-Star Frog Splash.
Post Match: Leo superkicked Shadow and gave him a beatdown until ''Misfit'' Mike Mission made the save and challenged Leo London to a Kendo Stick Match on May 28th hopefully settling this once and for all.
Match #2 - ''The Great'' Pepito vs. Madman Muir (with Laurence Fozzworth III) - Muir backed Pepito to the corner and delivered a backbreaker as well as a headbutt. Muir tried to cover but only got a 1 count. An irish whip by Pepito turned into a shoulderblock by Madman. Pepito delivered repeated kicks as well as 10 punches to Muir's head followed by 2 elbows and a knee. Muir recovered with a face rake and a kneebuster. On the outside, Muir's manager Fozzworth went on the attack by choking Pepito. Madman threw Pepito into the ringpost and deliver a back rake. Pepito would recover with a dropkick and ran Muir into the ringpost twice. Pepito then tried a dive, but Muir caught him in mid-air and ran his back into the post. Madman next delivered a chokeslam. While Fozzworth distracted referee Rocky Augustino, Samuel Dez Aztor came into the ring and delivered a backbreaker allowing Madman Muir to get the W meaning win. After the match the team known as Epitomy Of Evil went to work on Pepito.
Promo: Vinnie Valiant comes to the ring and calls out the man who attacked him last time they were in the ring. That man being Marius. Marius did not come out so the match would take place later that afternoon.
Match #3 - Samuel Dez Aztor vs. Buddy Wiser - Samuel backed Wiser to the corner, however, Wiser countered with rights and a roundhouse clothesline for a 2. Buddy delivered 2 perfectly executed chops but Dez Aztor turned things around on the outside while referee Rocky Augustino started the 10 count. Once the match was back in the ring, Samuel choked Buddy and tried a suplex only to have Wiser block it and deliver a suplex of his own as well as a snapmare and a kick to the back of the head as well as a boot to the face. Wiser went up top for a sunset flip but only got a 2. On the outside, Samuel delivered a fist drop to Buddy's head. Referee Rocky Augustino started another 10 count. Back in the ring Dez Aztor delivered 2 elbows but only got a 2. In the heat of the moment, both men got double clotheslined. This allowed Madman Muir to slip into the ring and both men gave Buddy Wiser a beatdown until Pepito made the save. Result: No Contest. The new RCW GM made a match for later that afternoon and if Muir and Samuel declined they would both be fired. So they accepted.
Intermission: several wrestlers came out to sign autographs.
The Weasel's Den with Laurence Fozzworth III - It was time for as he put it, the best part of the afternoon. Weasel's Den time. But whether some of you reading may not know this, I, the Master Blogger have an interview segment as well called The Columnist's Corner and yes at one time, I did interview Laurence Fozzworth III but I will save that for Tuesday night when I go on Tuesday Night Heat to talk to Wayne. Anyway, in the Weasel's Den, Fozzworth's guest was Billy Blaze. During the course of the interview, Dirty Dick Walker came down to the ring and challenged Blaze to an impromptu match. This brought referee Rocky Augustino to the ring.
Impromptu Match: Dirty Dick Walker (with Laurence Fozzworth III) vs. Billy Blaze - Walker put Blaze in an armbar but Blaze reversed it. Dirty Dick reversed again and countered with a boot to the head but Billy delivered a shoulderblock and a hiptoss. From behind, The Dirty One countered with a face rake and a boot to the back of the head as well as repeated headbutts. On the outside Fozzworth choked Billy. Walker delivered a slingshot under the ropes as well as a legdrop. While Fozzworth distracted referee Rocky Augustino, Dick choked Billy with his wrist tape, tried an arrogant cover but only got a 1. Blaze came back in the match running Walker into the ring post, delivered a stiff kick and got the win with a rollup.
Semi Main Event - Madman Muir and Samuel Dez Aztor (with Laurence Fozzworth III) vs. Buddy Wiser and The Great Pepito - This match was made earlier this afternoon by the new GM. Wiser backed Muir to the corner. Muir tagged in Samuel but was victim to a hand stomp by Buddy before tagging Pepito who got stopped with a bodyslam and shots to the back of the head. Both Muir and Dez Aztor double teamed Pepito and Muir suplexed Pepito for good measure as well as a throat chop. Dez Aztor turned Pepito upside down into the tree of woe and countered with repeated kicks to the gutt. Madman delivered a roundhouse elbow before tagging in Samuel who tried a cover but was broken up by Buddy. This prompted Pepito to tag in a fresh Buddy Wiser who was on fire. This was followed by a double splash from Wiser and Pepito who sandwiched both Muir and Samuel. Wiser suplexed Dez Aztor but only got a 2 count. During the match, Muir threw powder in Wiser's eyes risking a DQ. After the match, Epitomy of Evil put Pepito in a garbage can and carried him to the back.
Main Event: Marius vs.Vinnie Valiant - Vinnie took down Marius but Marius would counter with an armdrag but then Valiant would reverse it and deliver a clothesline. Marius put Vinnie in another armbar but Valiant took him down with a headlock. Marius countered with a gutt wrench bodyslam but only got a 2 count. Vinnie tried a sunset flip but only got a 2 allowing Marius to bounce back with a clothesline, a bodyslam but when he went for a legdrop, Vinnie would roll out of the way. Both traded lefts and rights with Valiant getting the upper hand with a monkey flip followed by a spinning heel kick but when he tried a ploncha, Marius would roll out of the way rendering Vinnie unconscious. Just when it looked like all was over for Vinnie he quickly small packaged for in my opinion, the fastest 3 count ever. After the match Marius gave Vinnie Valiant another Peyote Piledriver until several wrestlers came to the ring to check on him. Him being Valiant.
