Last night (Sunday night), The Alliance of Defiance presented Only The Strong Survive at the Polish Fraternal Hall located between Mountain and Arlington. Here are the results courtesy of the Grand Master Blogger.
Opening Contest: Tyler Colton vs. Brian Rich - This was a rematch from last month's show at 4Play. Both men shook hands before the bell and Colton decked a superkick from Rich. Rich countered with hard chops and managed to escape the piledriver attempt. Tyler took down Brian several times and suplexed him for good measure which was followed by several elbows, but Rich kicked out only to be suplexed by Colton. A double sideslam by Tyler was only a 2 count. Tyler delivered blows to the back and a bodyslam for a 2. A suplex attempt was blocked and reversed by Brian for a 2 count. A backbreaker on the knee was yet another near fall. Rich would fight back until Tyler clotheslined him in the corner and put on an armbar submission. Both men traded blows with Tyler getting the upper hand with a Torcher Rack until Brian turned the tables with a neckbreaker and a dropkick. A superkick attempt was blocked by Tyler who turned it into a Texas Clover Leaf submission hold but Rich managed to grab the ropes thus the match would continue. When it did, Rich tried a Sliced Bread (or whatever that move is) but it was blocked by Colton who got the win with a Death Valley Driver.
Match #2 - Matt Fairlane vs. Billy Blaze - Fairlane backed Blaze to the corner but Blaze decked a shot. Billy backed Fairlane to the corner and Matt said to the referee, ''he pulled my hair.'' Billy reverses the armbar until Matt reverses it again and then Billy threw Matt out of the ring but Matt landed on his feet. On the outside Matt went right to work on Billy delivering repeated shots and ramming him into the ring post. They even fought out in the crowd so I said ''Keep me out of this'' Once order was restored, Billy would recover with a belly to belly suplex and several other moves until Fairlane delivered his Fairlane Widowmaker but once wasn't enough so he had to do it twice. After the match Matt used a chair and delivered a piledriver to Billy on the chair while telling the reff, ''Get out of my face!!''
Match #3 - Ra' am Dante vs. Zack Mercury - A collar elbow tieup with Merc getting the upper hand. Zack put on an armbar until Dante took him over into a dropkick for a 1 count. Merc recovered and used several holds but only got a 2. Up to the top went Dante and dived out onto Z-Merc. Z-Merc recovered and ran Alex into the ring post. Back in the ring, Dante tried a sunset flip but Zack recovered with a legdrop for a near fall. Merc delivered a Sky High but only got a 2 count. Merc tried an X-Factor but Dante kicked out at 2. By now, Zack was getting very frustrated and delivered repeated shots agressivly. The referee tried to step in to tell him to stop but Merc shoved the referee twice risking disqualification. Winner by DQ, Ra' am Dante.
Match #4 - ''Pimp Daddy'' Rick Matthews vs. ''Mr TLC'' Tommy Lee Curtis - Matthews puts Tommy in a headlock til TLC reverses it for a near fall. TLC took down Rick with several leg takedowns into a headlock followed by a shoulderblock and does pushups on the back of Rick. Tommy Lee takes Rick down with a clothesline over the ropes and dropkicks the Pimp Daddy which is followed by slingshot over the ropes but Matthews bounced back by running TLC into the ring post. TLC recovered with a 619 from the ringside chair. Back inside the ring, Tommy Lee tried a backcracker but it was blocked as Matthews held the ropes and delivered a kick, shoulders and a hard chop. Both men traded chops with TLC gaining the upper hand until Matthews attacked agressively with foot stomps and a suplex for good measure. Tommy kicked out at 2. Matthews choked Tommy with the tape around his wrist but missed a diving headbutt. This gave Tommy the opportunity to recuperate with a spinning kick, a chop and a back bodydrop followed by a backcracker from the ropes but Matthews had his foot under the ropes as the referee was making the count. In the end, The Pimp Daddy got the win with a Death Valley Driver. At the end of the match, Matthews got on the microphone and said time and time again he has been denied chance after chance well not anymore.
Match #5 - Sabertooth and Moses Luke vs. ''The Murder City Saints'' Darien Karisma and Nate Hardy - This match was made last month. Hardy tried repeated kicks but Moses delived repeated blows followed by a headbutt before tagging in Tooth who with Moses doubleteamed Nate. Tooth avalanched Nate in the corner and got pitched over the head by Luke. Moses did a hard chop to Nate and encouraged the audience to as he put it ''cheer for your boy'' until Karisma delivered a drop toehold into a bulldog as well as repeated hard kicks until Moses recovered with a backbreaker. An irishwhip to the corner but Darien moved out of the way and delivered repeated dropkicks in the corner until Moses delivered a hard bodyslam but as he got ready for a legdrop , Karisma rolled out of the way. This prompted Darien to tag in a fresh Nate Hardy who was all fired up until Luke backed Hardy and tagged in Tooth who got dropkicked by Nate and tags Karisma. Karisma and Hardy double superkick Tooth and this is followed by a Swanton Bomb but Tooth kicks out at 2. Moses delivers a spinebuster but Nate would recover with a DDT. Karisma tried a sunset flip but Tooth picks him up and gives him a headbutt. In the end the Murder City Saints get the win when both men pinned Tooth by piling ontop of him. Successful debut for Nate Hardy and Darien Karisma. These 2 are gonna go far.
Intermission - I went to the canteen to get a drink.
Match #6 - Carter Mason vs ''Hotshot'' Danny Duggan - After a collar elbow tieup, Mason and Duggan traded slaps with Duggan getting the upper hand. Carter took Danny over the ropes. Back inside the ring, Danny hiptossed Mason across the ring but only got a 2. An atomic drop attempt was a near fall. Outside the ring Mason got chopped. Back inside the ring, Mason slapped Duggan but Danny recovered only to have Mason get the upperhand. Mason would deliver shots and a rake to the eyes with his boot followed by a neckbreaker but got a near fall. Danny recovered with hard chops only to get put down again by Carter. Later on, Danny gave Mason a sideslam and a flying clothesline but only got a near fall. A flying bodypress attempt was reversed by Mason for a 2 count. A moonsault attempt was backfired as Danny put the knees up. Danny delivered the Cruel Summer knee drop and got the win. After the match Danny got on the mic and said that conspicuous by his absense is TJ Bratt. He then issued a statement to Mentallo. The statement was: ''I'm putting you on notice. When you get back from Japan, I'm taking that title.''
Match #7 - 123Approved.ca Open Rules Title Match - ''Big'' Cliff Corleone vs. Cory Diamond vs. ''Misfit'' Mike Mission vs. Darren ''The Bomb'' Dalton - Now there was action both inside the ring and outside of the ring. Darren got the crowd chanting ''Chicken''. Corleone backed Dalton to the corner. Dalton and Cliff got whacked by Diamond and Mission. A trash can shot on the Misfit by the Bomb. On the outside Corleone rubbed the mat in Diamond's face while Mission whacked Darren with a trash can lid but Dalton recovered and rammed Mission into the ring post. Dalton wrapped a chain around the Misfit's head while inside the ring Big Cliff used a staple gun on Cory. Outside, Dalton dove onto Mission and choked him with the mop. Inside, Cliff irishwhipped Dalton to the corner for an avalanche. Next, Dalton delivered a trash can lid shot to Cory as well as a chair shot to the Misfit. During the melee Mission got tossed into some chairs as well as a poster stapled to him. Corleone delivered a kendo stick shot. Cliff next delivered a Corleone Crrrunch to Darren followed by a shot to the Misfit. In the end Darren Dalton got the win but after the match, both Cliff and the Misfit attacked Dalton and Diamond.
Main Event - CWE Tag Team Title Match - Team Impact vs. AJ Sanchez & Roderick Strong - Conspicuous by her absence was Team Impact's manager Lacey. ATM took down Roderick with a headlock, a cartwheel by Strong allowed him to get the tag to AJ who bites ATM on the hand and tags Roderick again for a doubleteam to ATM. Strong suplexes Moore. Sanchez delivers a hard right to Robby but Robby bounces back with a dropkick on AJ and gets his head rammed by ATM who hits Sanchez with a dropkick. Sanchez recovers with a hurricanranna, tags in Strong who is on fire with repeated chops to both members of Team Impact but Impact would recover and doubleteam Roderick. Robby puts Strong in a chokehold but Strong recovered by ramming ATM to the ringpost. The match went out of control. When order was restored, Strong backsuplexed Moore. AJ took down ATM with a Sky High or whatever that was for a near fall. Moore suplexed Roderick for a 2 count. In the end, Team Impact won the match and retained their titles but were in for a nasty surprise as Kevy Chevy hit the ring and took out both members of Team Impact.
