Tonight, Steeltown Pro Wrestling (SPW) returned to the Casa Do Minho 1080 Wall St. Now for those reading this, I have changed my name from the Master Blogger to the Wrestling Insider. New year, new name change. Anyway, let us get on to the results.
Opening Contest Featuring the Wild Women of SPW - Bobbie Duggan vs. Lamb Chop - This match never even got started as Moses Luke, Chip Fletcher, James Beaver and Jethro Hawg get involved.
Match #2 - ''Really Crazy'' Rob Stardom vs. ''Playboy'' Buddy Wiser - Wiser shoves Stardom twice til Stardom delivers rapid kicks and chops that do not phase Wiser til a hard one from Buddy phases Rob. Another hard one for good measure and Wiser is in control this is followed by a suplex for good measure. Really Crazy turns the match around but Wiser quickly recovers and gets a 2. Stardom bites Buddy but Wiser recovers with a boot but misses a legdrop as Rob covers and gets a 2. A clothesline is followed by a splash for the win.
Match #3 - JJ Sanchez vs. ''Extreme Luchador'' La Sombra - AJ Sanchez came out to watch Sombra's back as Sombra dominated most of the match. A hurricanranna attempt is blocked by sidewalk slam by JJ but Sombra kicks out at 2. A drop toehold is followed by a 6-1-9. Suddenly, in the thick of it, AJ turned on Sombra and helped JJ dominate La Sombra giving the win to JJ.
Match #4 - ''Canadian Loose Cannon'' TJ Bratt vs. ''Golden Boy'' El Dorado - TJ goes to work on Dorado. Dorado recovers but gets a hard chop. Dorado makes a comeback but Bratt gets the win with a stretch submission hold.
Match #5 - 5 Man SPW Showdown for the SPW Hardcore Title - Samuel vs Sydney ''Scarhead'' Manson vs. ''Playboy'' Buddy Wiser vs, Marius vs. Chip ''Hardcore Kid'' Fletcher - Marius clocks Samuel with a crutch but Samuel turns it around but then goes into the plywood. Chip whacks Marius with the chain and gets the win with a rollup.
Match #6 - SPW Heavyweight Title Match - ''Really Crazy'' Rob Stardom vs. Jethro Hawg w/Lamb Chop - Before the match James Beaver ambushes Jethro and kidnaps Lamb Chop. Referees tried to stop Beaver but Beaver punches one of the reffs. Stardom takes the mic and says he has been too busy chasing after Beaver when he should be worried about Stardom. In other words the match never even got started.
Match #7 - ''German Juggernaut'' Moses Luke vs. ''Extreme Luchador'' La Sombra - Sombra goes to work til Moses gets in a backbreaker and an avalanche til Sombra recovers with a kick. As Sombra goes behind Moses delivers a backkick but misses a legdrop which allowed La Sombra to deliver a 6-1-9 and a headbutt for the win but in come the Sanchez Brothers who ambush La Sombra luckily ''Hotshot'' Danny Duggan makes the save.
Match #8 - SPW Hardcore Title Match - Marius goes to work on Chip but Chip recovered only to be put down by Marius with a supelex for a near fall. A plywood shot followed by a chair is another near fall. As Marius tries a piledriver, Chip does a back bodydrop and uses the chair 3 times but finally Marius using a camelclutch with the chair is the win and the new SPW Hardcore Title.
Insider's Note: If I was at ringside, I would have made sure Fletcher remained champion. For those reading this, yes I have been a manager in another promotion. Let's just leave it at that.
Match #9 - Syko & SonofSyko vs. S.O.A. - A double finger poke by Billy follolwed by a headlock on SonofSyko and tags in Cliff who gets an eyerake but a shoulderblock does not even budge Cliff. In comes Syko and gets a shoulderblock. Blaze comes in and gets attacked by Syko. Billy comes back but Syko puts him down again. Again Blaze comes back with a thunderous double clothesline and manages to tag Big Cliff who is on fire but the referee sends him back to the corner because the reff did not see the tag. This allowed Syko and SonofSyko to get the win as SonofSyko pinned Blaze with his feet on the ropes.
Match #10 - ''Mile High'' Zack Mercury vs. ''Highlander'' Robbie McAllister - Merc goes to work on Robbie. Robbie comes back but Merc goes to work some more with a back suplex among other moves. A sidewalk slam is another near fall. Robbie recovers by bringing Merc in the hard way and gets the win with a double underhook suplex.
Intermission
Match #11 - Sanchez Brothers vs. S.O.A. - I had a little pen trouble here so I could not detail this match. Winners: AJ & JJ Sanchez.
Match #12 - SPW Provincial Title Match - Reggie Gallagher vs. ''Highlander'' Robbie McAllister - A shoulderblock by Robbie til Gallagher recovers with an eyepoke til McAllister recovers with a headbutt for a nearfall. A jawbreaker as Reggie goes back to work til Reg delivers an elbow. Reggie recovers w/several back elbows and a dropkick but Reggie gets the win with a rollup holding the tights and becomes the new SPW Provincial Champion.
Match #13 - AJ & JJ Sanchez vs. ''Extreme Luchador'' La Sombra and ''Hotshot'' Danny Duggan - Several armdrags by Duggan followed by a plocha onto both AJ & JJ til The Sanchez Brothers caught Sombra only to have Duggam deliver a double dropkick. A reverse atomic drop by Duggan on AJ til Danny brings JJ in the hard way. Now the Sanchez brothers are in control til Danny goes to work on JJ. In the end Sombra pins JJ with a Tornado DDT.
Main Event: James Beaver vs. Jethro Hawg - Beaver brought Lamb Chop out to ringside who was tied up. Beaver goes to work on Hawg using his cowbell to bust him open but gets a nearfall. A clothesline in the corner is followed by a choke with his boot. Jethro recovers with a slam and a clothesline and goes to untie Lamb Chop. In the thick of it all, Lamb Chop turns on Jethro and kisses Beaver. Despite the fact that Lamb Chop turned on Hawg, he still got the win. It still wasn't over. My arch-rival the Weasel Laurence Fudgeworth III came out and said he had someone who wanted to celebrate the win. It was none other than Doink The Clown who turned out to be Rob Stardom as both go to work on Jethro. Which made me soooo angry.
Extra Notes: I knew something was fishy when Fudgeworth showed up. Well now it's time to get even. If that match takes place in Winnipeg, I am offering my services to be in the corner of Jethro Hawg and if Fudgeworth tries to intervene I will clock him with my clipboard just like I did before.
